Featured Rooms Rec Room Reviews
Video Summary
In this video, I dive into this week’s Featured Rooms in Rec Room and give my first impressions as I explore each one. I check out Mini Empire’s tiny buildable world, then walk through Gondor and absolutely love its style and atmosphere, calling it a 10/10. I also tour Palace of the Fine Arts for its stunning scenery and interactive drawing canvases, try out the Block Blast game room, and explore Zakania and another beachy, statue-like build that really impressed me with their creativity. Overall, this week’s rooms felt especially polished, immersive, and fun to explore.

Hey everybody, it’s Under My Cap. Welcome back to another video. Today, we’re going to be diving into this week’s featured rooms, so let’s get straight into it.
Mini Empire
We’re currently in a room called Mini Empire. It looks like we’re loading into a map, so let’s see what happens.
Wow—this is so cool. There’s a whole environment here, and it looks like I can click things. Let’s skip the tutorial and see what we can do.
It looks like we can place structures, so let’s build. Yep—let’s put that in… and it says, “You cannot afford this structure.” Okay, fair enough.
Oh, look at this—hello there. Oh crap, this is so cool. That character is tiny, and it’s fast as well. Holy moly. There’s this whole little world that you can actually build in, which is awesome.
It’s a really good world, but let’s move on to the next room.
Gondor
Next up: Gondor. Wow, this is so cool. Look at this. I love the style of these trees—it looks amazing.
Let’s take a walk through. You can see there’s a little map as well, which is really cool. There’s also a credits section—super awesome.
This is such a cool map, and it looks like there’s a building up there, so we should definitely go investigate.
Okay: “Door to Enchantment.” Let’s go. How do I get in? It looks like there’s a little campsite too. This room is so cool—I already love the style. I love the simplicity, and I love everything about it. This is a 10 out of 10.
Palace of the Fine Arts
Next room: Palace of the Fine Arts. This looks very promising.
Wow, this is actually so cool. The greenery and the overall atmosphere are amazing. One really cool thing is that it looks like you can actually draw here using art canvases.
Let’s see—can I grab any of this? It looks like we have to claim it. That’s very cool.
I like this room a lot. The scenery is genuinely stunning. Over there, they’ve used one of the new mannequins, which is really cool, and there are some little particle effects too. Super awesome.
Block Blast
Next up: Block Blast. Okay—wow. I’m already liking this one a lot.
We have a high-score scoreboard UI right in front of us, which is really cool. I guess let’s start.
It looks like you select pieces… I’ve actually never played this before. Do I just select them? What do we do?
Oh, okay—so you place the pieces like that. Interesting. You kind of slot them together, and then you put the next one somewhere.
So, you place blocks down and, hopefully, you can get them to explode. I’m not entirely sure what’s happening yet. Whoops.
Still, very cool room. Onto the next one.
Zakania
This one is called Zakania. Very cool—looks like we’re inside a building. I love that it’s raining outside too. That’s such a nice touch.
You can see a little street down there, plus the rain effects. Very cool.
There’s a little kitchen area with plates, knives, and forks. The sink might need a little work, but that’s okay. There’s also a pot with something in it—can we pick this up? Yeah. Let’s give it a little mix. Very fancy.
There’s also a computer with buttons on it—might as well give a little cheer.
We’ve got a little bed in here too. Can we go outside? We can. That’s really cool.
This room is super cool. I love it a lot—but let’s move on to the next one.
A Beach Balcony Inside a Statue
Wow, this next one looks really cool as well. Let’s make sure we’re seeing the right room—yeah, this looks awesome.
We’ve got a nice kitchen, and a nice little balcony. I love the outdoors vibe. Hang on—how do we get out? Can I jump out the window? No.
Okay, looks like we need to figure out how to get outside. Oh—wait, you can just use the handle. That’s really cool.
Look at this beach. That is so nice. The sky dome is really cool too. It looks like we’re inside some kind of statue or something.
I love how creative these rooms are this week. This is actually so cool. Look at that—we’ve got the hands and the person. That is seriously impressive.
