Video Summary
In this tutorial, I show you how to set up a Minecraft server or world where only one player needs to sleep to skip the night instead of requiring all players to sleep. Using the gamerule command with “playersSleeperPercentage” set to -1, you can have a single player trigger the night skip, or alternatively set a percentage if you want multiple players to sleep. This feature works on both Bedrock and Java editions and is useful for server management.

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap and welcome back to another post! Today I’m going to be showing you how to make your Minecraft servers and worlds have no player sleep limit. This basically means that instead of having every player sleep on a server, you can just have one player sleep and the whole night will change. You can also set it so it’s a percentage as well, so if you want 50% of players to sleep, we can also set it to that. So without further ado, let’s get straight into it! Yes! This command works on both Bedrock and Java editions of Minecraft, so no matter which version you’re playing on, you’ll be able to get this set up for your server or world. The command we want to use is a game rule command. First, open your chat and type in a forward slash, then simply type in If you only want one player to be able to skip the night for the entire server, simply type in -1 and hit Enter. If you want a certain percentage of players to be required before the night skips, you type in that percentage as a number. For example, if you had 10 players online and wanted 5 players to sleep in order to skip the night, you would type in 50, because that represents 50% of the players. If you just want one player to skip the whole night for everyone though, simply type in -1 and hit Enter. Once you do this, the game rule will update straight away. To test it out, give yourself a bed, set the time to midnight, and hop into the bed — you should see the “Sleeping through this night” message appear, even if you’re the only one sleeping. It works perfectly! Does This Work on Both Bedrock and Java?
The Command You Need
gamerule. Once you’ve typed in gamerule, you then want to type in playersSleeping for the next part — note the capital “S” in Sleeping. You’ll notice it pops up as a suggestion, so if you’re on Java you can simply hit Tab to autocomplete it. If you’re on Bedrock, unfortunately you do have to type out the rest manually, but once you’ve done that you’re ready for the next part of the command.
