How to Reveal Chunk Borders in Minecraft | Quick Tutorial

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap and welcome back to another video! Today I’m going to be showing you how to get chunk borders in Minecraft Java Edition.

Important Note Before We Begin

Unfortunately, this method will not work on Bedrock Edition, however on Java Edition you can absolutely do this, so let’s get into it!

How to Enable Chunk Borders in Minecraft Java Edition

To enable chunk borders, all you have to do is simply hit the F3 button on your keyboard at the same time as the G key. It’s worth noting that this may also require you to hold the FN key if your keyboard does not allow function keys to activate straight away. When you hit F3 + G at the same time, you’ll notice that yellow, blue and red lines will appear everywhere. These lines outline a whole Minecraft chunk in a really cool way!

Why Are Chunk Borders Useful?

People use chunk borders all throughout Minecraft — from speed runs to finding diamonds in veins and so much more. They are an incredibly handy tool to have at your disposal when navigating and optimising your Minecraft world.

How to Disable Chunk Borders

Sometimes chunk borders can get a little bit annoying once you’ve finished using them, but disabling them is just as easy as enabling them! All you have to do is hit F3 + G again and the chunk border lines will disappear. You may notice your screen briefly change when toggling this on or off — that appears to be normal behaviour, so there’s no need to worry!
