How To Get A Knockback 1,000 Stick In Minecraft Java Tutorial
Video Summary
In this video, I show you how to get an insanely powerful Knockback 1,000 stick in Minecraft Java Edition using a /give command. I explain the exact command syntax, how to add the knockback enchantment, and how to change the level to whatever you want. Then I demonstrate the results by hitting mobs and sending them flying or even making them seem to disappear from the impact. I also note that this method won’t work on Bedrock Edition due to different command syntax.
Formatted Transcript
Hey everyone, it’s Anna McCapp. In this post, I’m going to show you how to get a knockback stick with level 1000 knockback in Minecraft Java Edition.
These kinds of items aren’t obtainable through normal gameplay because they’re far too powerful, but you can create them using commands. Unfortunately, this specific command syntax won’t work in Bedrock Edition because commands are formatted differently there.
Why Use a Knockback 1000 Stick?
Normally, when you hit a mob with a regular weapon, they don’t get knocked back very far. If you want to launch mobs as far as possible, you can give yourself an item with an extremely high knockback enchantment.
The Command You Need
You’ll be using the /give command to give yourself a stick (or any item you want) with a custom knockback enchantment.
Type the following command into the chat/command terminal:
/give @s minecraft:stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:1000}]}
Breaking Down the Command
Here’s what each part means:
/give — Gives an item to a player.
@s — Targets yourself (you can also use @p for the nearest player).
minecraft:stick — The item being given. You can replace stick with another item if you want.
{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:1000}]} — Adds the knockback enchantment at the level you choose.
Testing It In-Game
Once you run the command, you’ll receive a stick with knockback applied. Even at lower levels (like 10), mobs will go flying when you hit them. As you increase the level—100, 1000, or higher—the knockback becomes extreme.
At very high levels, mobs can get launched so far that they disappear almost instantly. If you test this in different situations, like underwater, the effect can look even more dramatic—sometimes it seems like the mob vanishes the moment you hit it.
Adjusting the Knockback Level
If you want to experiment, just change the number after lvl: to whatever strength you want. For example:
/give @s minecraft:stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:10}]}
Then raise it as high as you like once you’re ready.
That’s it—now you know how to make an overpowered knockback stick in Minecraft Java Edition.
