How to use Damage command In Minecraft Tutorial – Bedrock

Video Summary

In this tutorial video, I demonstrate how to use the Minecraft Bedrock damage command to remove hearts from players. The damage command works by typing “/damage” followed by a target selector (like @s for yourself) and a number up to 20, which represents damage points that can be inflicted on players, with armor potentially reducing the effect. I show practical examples of applying 1, 5, and 20 damage points to illustrate how the command functions in gameplay.

What Does the Damage Command Do?

The damage command is a really useful tool that allows you to remove hearts from a player. You can take up to 20 damage points away from a player at a time, and hitting that 20-point mark will remove all of their hearts. It is also worth noting that armor may affect how the damage is applied, so feel free to experiment with that yourself and see what results you get!

How to Use the Damage Command

Using the damage command is straightforward. Start by opening your chat and typing a forward slash, followed by the word damage. Once you have typed in the command, you will be able to select a target — this could be yourself, random players, or all players in the game. For the purposes of this tutorial, I used @s to target myself.

After selecting your target, you simply choose the number of damage points you want to apply. For example, typing 1 will remove just one damage point, which is a very small amount. Typing 5 takes away noticeably more health, and as for typing 20… well, let’s just say things got a little intense!

Quick Command Reference

  • /damage @s 1 — Removes 1 damage point from yourself
  • /damage @s 5 — Removes 5 damage points from yourself
  • /damage @s 20 — Removes all hearts (maximum damage)
  • Replace @s with @r for a random player or @a for all players

The damage command is a fantastic tool for map makers, mini-game creators, or anyone who just wants to have a bit of fun experimenting in Minecraft Bedrock. Give it a try and see what creative ways you can put it to use!

Thanks so much for reading, and I hope this tutorial was helpful. Stay tuned for more Minecraft tips and tutorials — and as always, take care!
