The clear command in Minecraft allows you to clear your inventory as well as other players’ inventories in the game, which is super useful. If your inventory is super messy and you can’t be bothered going through and dragging items or shift-clicking to remove everything, the clear command is exactly what you need!

How To Use The Clear Command

To use the clear command, open up the command terminal and simply type /clear followed by your name. Just like that — inventory cleared! It’s really that straightforward and saves you a huge amount of time compared to manually managing your inventory.

Other Ways To Use The Clear Command

There are also some other handy ways you can use the clear command. Instead of typing your full name, you can use /clear @s, which is a bit simpler if you just want to quickly clear your own inventory. You can also use /clear @p, which targets the nearest player. This means if you are using it yourself, it will clear your own inventory, but if it’s set up inside a command block, it will clear the inventory of whichever player is closest to that command block — which could be quite frustrating for an unsuspecting player just going about their day and suddenly losing everything!

The clear command can also be used inside command blocks. The command itself is exactly the same — it’s just placed inside the command block rather than typed into the chat terminal. So once you know the command, using it in a command block is a breeze!
