Video Summary
In this video, I demonstrate the secret place feature command in Minecraft Java Edition, which allows players to spawn natural environmental features like trees, caves, and stone formations using the /place feature command. I show how to use the command with various options such as meadow trees that spawn with beehives and jungle trees without vines, and explain how to specify coordinates for placement. Unfortunately, this feature is only available on Java Edition and not on Bedrock Edition.

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap and welcome back to another video! Today I’m going to be showing you how to use the Place Feature Command in Minecraft. If you’d prefer to watch the video instead, you can check it out here: New Place Feature Command Minecraft! This is a very secret hidden feature at the moment and I’m not entirely sure if it’s going to gain more functionality in the future, but basically what it allows you to do is place environmental and natural features into your world. Now just to set expectations, you can’t place buildings — I’ve looked into it and it just doesn’t support that — but what you can place is a whole bunch of trees, caves, stone formations, and much more. There is quite literally a massive list of options to explore! First of all, what you want to do is open your chat and type in the command. Simply type /place feature and as you can see, it pops up with a whole variety of options. The next part is pretty simple — you’ve got a whole variety of environmental things you can place right at your fingertips. One really cool thing I was doing was placing meadow trees, which had bees on them — guaranteed! So basically when you use the meadow trees option, you can see it places a very big tree and then places a little beehive along with it, and yes, a bee actually came out of it! To show you that this was guaranteed, you can simply type the command again and it will happen every single time. You can also use this command with different coordinates as well, so for example if you offset it by one across from you, it will place another tree with another bee spawning from it. Pretty awesome, right? There is literally a whole list of features available to place — there are just so many things to explore. For example, you can place a jungle tree with no vines, and as the name kind of says, it places a jungle tree without any vines on it. I’d really encourage you to go in and explore the full list yourself, because there is so much in there to discover and have fun with. Unfortunately, this command is only available on Java Edition and is not available on Bedrock Edition, so I’m very sorry about that if you’re a Bedrock player. Hopefully that changes in the future!
