How To Use Spectator Mode In Minecraft Bedrock

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap and welcome back to another video! Today I’m going to be showing you the all-new Spectator Mode in Minecraft Bedrock. This mode has been around for a long time in Java Edition, and now you can use it in Bedrock too. It is super useful if you don’t want people to break anything, or if you want them to view a world without damaging anything. Best of all, it is super easy to use, so let’s get straight into it!

What You Need To Get Started

Before jumping in, you will need a world with cheats enabled. You can see in the video that I am currently in Creative mode, but this will work regardless of your game mode. Once you have a cheats-enabled world ready, you are all set to enable Spectator Mode.

How To Enable Spectator Mode

To get into Spectator Mode, all you need to do is open your chat and type /gamemode spectator — that’s s, p, e, c, t, a, t, o, r — and then hit enter. You will notice that the world kind of refreshes and your character has a whole new perspective. There is no GUI displayed, but you can still look around and move as normal.

How To Move In Spectator Mode

Moving around in Spectator Mode works similarly to Creative Mode flying. You can move around using W, A, S, and D on keyboard, or if you are on an iPad, simply touch the screen to navigate. To move downwards, press Shift, and to move upwards, press Space. It feels very much like Creative Mode flying, with one big difference — you cannot break anything!

Cool Features Of Spectator Mode

One of the really cool things about Spectator Mode is that you can fly straight through blocks. You can pass right through walls, through houses, and even through water — and the water won’t slow you down at all. It is a fantastic way to explore a world or let others view a build without the risk of anything being damaged or changed. When in Spectator Mode, your character appears as just a floating head, and other players are not able to see you, making it a great tool for observing worlds quietly.

How To Exit Spectator Mode

Getting out of Spectator Mode is just as simple as getting in. All you need to do is type /gamemode creative or /gamemode survival, depending on what you were doing before. You can also use the shortcut letter C for Creative mode. Once you do that, you are right back to your normal character and everything is back to how it was!
