Just like in Java Edition, Bedrock has the same types of title commands available — action bar, clear, reset, subtitle, times, and title. Let’s start off with the basics. To display a title on screen, you simply type /title @a title followed by your message. For example, typing /title @a title hello will display “hello” on screen for all players.
Using Subtitles
You can also pair a subtitle with your title, which is a really handy feature! To set a subtitle, you use /title @a subtitle hello. One important thing to keep in mind is that the subtitle will not display on its own — it needs to be triggered alongside a title command. So once you set your subtitle, run your title command and you’ll see both appear together on screen. It’s also worth noting that once a subtitle plays, it won’t show up again automatically. To play it again, simply re-enter the subtitle command and then run the title command once more. Pretty useful!
The Action Bar
You might already know what the action bar is — it’s that small display area at the bottom of the screen, just above your hotbar. To use it, the command follows the same structure: /title @a actionbar hello. You can also replace @a with a specific player’s name, for example /title UnderMyCap actionbar hello. Just like the title and subtitle commands, you can use the action bar as many times as you like.
Controlling Title Timing with the Times Command
If you want to control how long your titles stay on screen and how they fade in and out, you can use the times command. The structure is /title @a times [fadeIn] [stay] [fadeOut], where each of the three numbers represents a different component — fade in, stay on screen, and fade out — all measured in ticks. For example, using /title @a times 20 40 20 will fade the title in over 20 ticks, keep it on screen for 40 ticks, and then fade it out over 20 ticks. This works for both action bar and title commands, giving you great control over how your messages are displayed.
Resetting and Clearing Titles
If you ever want to completely reset all of your title settings — including timing and subtitles — you can use the reset command: /title @a reset. This will bring everything back to its default state. There’s also the clear command (/title @a clear), which is perfect for situations where you’ve accidentally set a subtitle you don’t want to play. Running clear will completely erase any queued titles or subtitles from the screen right away.
Summary
And that’s everything you need to know about the title command in Minecraft Bedrock Edition! Whether you’re displaying messages, adding subtitles, using the action bar, or fine-tuning your timing, these commands give you a lot of creative control.
