How to Get and Use Emotes in Minecraft Bedrock!

Video Summary

In this video, I show you how to access and use emotes in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, which is a cool feature for expressing yourself during multiplayer gameplay. I demonstrate how to access emotes using different controls depending on your platform (B button for keyboard, a button on iPad, or D-pad up on Xbox/PS5), and how to customize your emote wheel in the dressing room by equipping different emotes. While emotes disable when you move, they’re a great way to add more personality and expression to your game experience.

How to Get and Use Emotes in Minecraft Bedrock!

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap and welcome back to another post! Today I’m going to be showing you how to use emotes in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. This is such a cool feature — it’s really great for multiplayer or if you’re just playing with your friends, as it lets you show a little bit more expression in the game. How to Access Emotes in Minecraft Bedrock

The first thing to cover is how you actually access emotes depending on what device you’re playing on. For keyboard players, all you have to do is hold down the B button and you’ll notice that a whole bunch of numbers pop up in the corner. These are four specific keybinds that you can use to trigger any emote in Minecraft. If you want a quicker method, you don’t have to hold down B — you can simply click B and an emote wheel will pop up, allowing you to drag your mouse and click on whichever emote you want to use. All the number shortcuts work here too, making it super easy to use.

If you’re playing on iPad, there is a small button at the top of the screen that looks a little like a player icon — just tap that to bring up your emotes. If you’re on Xbox or PS4/PS5, all you need to do is press up on the D-pad, which is that little plus-shaped icon on your controller.

How to Customize Your Emote Wheel

Now, to customize your emote wheel, you’ll want to head into your Dressing Room and navigate over to the little dancing Alex skin icon. From there, you’ll see a whole collection of emotes that you own. If you scroll down, there are heaps more that you can purchase — the ones without a coin icon next to them are the ones you’ve already unlocked. From here, you can choose which emotes you’d like on your emote wheel. For example, if you want to use the Faceplant emote, simply hit the Equip button in the corner and you’ll be given the option to select which slot you’d like to override. Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll get a confirmation that the emote has been equipped.

Once you head back into the game and press B, you’ll see your newly equipped emote ready to go. It’s worth noting that unfortunately you can’t move while performing an emote — as soon as you walk, the emote will cancel. Even so, it’s a really fun and cool feature that adds a lot of personality to your gameplay.

What About Java Edition?

It is a bit of a shame that this feature isn’t natively available in Java Edition. There are ways to get something similar through clients like Lunar Client and Badlime, but it would be amazing to see Mojang add a little bit of this functionality directly into Java Edition in the future. Here’s hoping!

That’s all there is to it! Emotes in Minecraft Bedrock Edition are a fantastic way to express yourself and have a little extra fun, especially when playing with friends. If you found this helpful, feel free to share it with a fellow Minecraft player, and I’ll catch you in the next one — see ya!
