Video Summary
In this video, I show you how to access and use emotes in Minecraft Bedrock Edition on keyboard, iPad, and console. I explain the emote wheel and keybind options, then walk you through customizing your emotes by equipping them in the Dressing Room. Hey everybody, it’s Under My Cap, and welcome back to another video. Today, I’m going to show you how to use emotes in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
This is such a cool feature—especially for multiplayer or when you’re playing with friends—because it lets you show a bit more expression in the game. There are plenty of emotes available, and you can customize them too.
How to Access Emotes
Keyboard and Mouse (PC)
If you’re playing on keyboard, hold down the B key. You’ll notice numbers pop up in the corner—these correspond to specific keybinds you can use to trigger emotes. You can customize these keybinds, and I’ll explain how in a moment.
If you want a quicker method, you don’t have to hold B. Just tap B, and the emote wheel will pop up. Then you can drag your mouse to select the emote you want. It’s super easy to use.
iPad
On iPad, there’s a button at the top of the screen that looks like a player icon. Tap that to open emotes.
Xbox / PlayStation
On Xbox or PlayStation, press up on the D-pad (the plus-shaped button) to access the emotes.
How to Customize Your Emote Wheel
To customize your emotes, go into your Dressing Room. From there, navigate to the emotes section (you’ll see a dancing Alex icon). Inside, you’ll find all your owned emotes.
If you scroll down, you’ll also see emotes you can buy. The ones without a coin icon are the ones you’ve already unlocked.
For example, if you want to equip the Faceplant emote, select it and press the Equip button. The game will then ask which slot you want to override. If you choose to replace an emote like Flapping, it will confirm that the new emote has been equipped.
Using Your Newly Equipped Emote
Once you go back into the game and press B, you’ll see the emote is now on your wheel and ready to use.
Just keep in mind that you can’t really move while doing an emote. For example, if you use Faceplant, it plays the animation—but as soon as you start walking, the emote stops.
It’s still a really fun feature, and I honestly love it. It’s a shame this isn’t in Java Edition by default. I know you can get something similar with clients like Lunar Client or Badlion, but it would be great if Java had official emote support too.
That’s about it. If you enjoyed the video, don’t forget to leave a like and subscribe, and I can’t wait to see you in the next one. See ya!
