New Place Feature Command Minecraft!

Video Summary
In this video I show you how to use Minecraft’s hidden /place feature command to spawn natural world features. I demonstrate typing “/place feature” and selecting options like meadow trees, which can even generate trees with guaranteed beehives and bees. You can also place features at specific coordinates, and there are tons of variations like jungle trees without vines. This currently works only on Java Edition, not Bedrock.

Hey everybody, it’s Under My Cap, and welcome back to another video. Today I’m going to show you how to use the /place feature command in Minecraft.

Right now, this is a fairly hidden feature. I’m not sure whether it will get more functionality in the future, but at the moment it lets you place natural, environmental features into your world.

What the Command Can (and Can’t) Do

With /place feature, you can’t place full structures or buildings (I tried looking into it), but you can place a wide variety of natural features—things like trees, caves, and stone formations.

How to Use /place feature

To get started, open chat and type:

/place feature

Once you do, you’ll see a list of different environmental features you can choose from. There are a lot of options, so it’s worth exploring what’s available.

Example: Meadow Trees with Guaranteed Bees

One of the features I was testing was the meadow tree variants—specifically the ones that spawn with bees guaranteed.

For example, selecting the meadow trees option will place a tree (often a large one), and it will also spawn a beehive on it. If you wait a moment, you should see bees come out of the hive.

To prove it’s consistent, you can run the command again and it will generate another tree with another beehive—and more bees.

Placing Features at Specific Coordinates

You can also use the command with coordinates to place the feature somewhere other than where you’re standing. If you specify a location, the game will generate the feature at those coordinates instead.

More Variations to Try

There’s a huge list of features you can use. For example, you can place a jungle tree with no vines, which does exactly what the name implies.

That’s the basic idea of the command—I recommend experimenting and seeing what kinds of features you can spawn.

Important Note: Java Edition Only

Unfortunately, this command currently works only on Java Edition, not Bedrock Edition.

If you enjoyed this, consider leaving a like and subscribing. We’re really close to 7K, and I’d love to hit it this month. Thanks so much, and I’ll see you in the next video.
