How To Get A Knockback Stick In Minecraft Java (Updated)
Video Summary
In this video, I show you how to get a knockback stick in Minecraft Java, including how to go beyond the normal anvil limit. I walk through a single /give command with custom NBT enchantments and demonstrate different Knockback levels like 10, 100, 1,000, and even 10,000. I also mention that extremely high numbers can sometimes result in a stick with no knockback effect. Finally, I test the stick on mobs so you can see how far they get launched.

Hey everybody, it’s UnderMyCap, and welcome back to another video. Today I’m going to show you how to get a knockback stick in Minecraft.
As you probably already know, you can make a basic knockback stick by combining a stick with a Knockback book in an anvil. However, if you want to go beyond the normal limits, this method lets you create extremely high levels of knockback.
In this post, I’ll show you how to get Knockback 10, Knockback 100, Knockback 1,000, and even Knockback 10,000. Once you go past around 1,000, you won’t really be able to see the mob anymore because it gets launched so far away.
The Command You Need
There’s only one command for this, and it’s simple to run—but it’s a long command, so type it carefully. Minecraft commands are case-sensitive, so capitalization matters.
Start with the normal /give command to give yourself a stick:
/give @s stick
Before you press Enter, you’re going to add custom NBT data so the stick comes with Knockback at whatever level you want.
Adding Custom Enchantments (NBT)
You’ll add the Enchantments tag, then define the enchantment ID as Knockback, and finally set the level.
The structure looks like this:
/give @s stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:10}]}
That command gives you a stick with Knockback 10.
Examples: Knockback 10, 100, 1,000, and 10,000
Knockback 10
/give @s stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:10}]}
When you hit a mob, it gets launched back quickly and noticeably.
Knockback 100
/give @s stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:100}]}
At this level, the mob can get thrown so far that you may only see it again if it hits something like a wall. It can even appear to fly straight through structures due to how hard it’s being launched.
Knockback 1,000
/give @s stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:1000}]}
At around 1,000, the mob basically disappears because it gets launched so far away that you can’t track it.
Knockback 10,000
/give @s stick{Enchantments:[{id:knockback,lvl:10000}]}
This is extreme knockback. The mob will be launched an absurd distance.
How High Can You Go?
You can keep increasing the level as much as you want, but if you use a ridiculously large number, you may run into limitations. At a certain point, Minecraft may give you a Knockback stick that effectively has no knockback at all—making it behave like a normal stick.
Wrapping Up
That’s it—an easy way to create a knockback stick at almost any level using one command. If you enjoyed this, please leave a like and subscribe. My socials are in the description as well, so feel free to check those out. See you next time.
