Minecraft In VR Again But Better

Video Summary

I’m back in Minecraft VR starting completely from scratch in a brand new world, and this time it feels so much better than before. I’ve added some cool mods and new arm animations to enhance the experience, and I’m focusing on the immersive physical gameplay where I actually have to punch and jump to interact with the world. I’ve set up a nice spawn location with berry bushes for food, created a small mine to gather resources, and prepared the area for building a proper base in the next episode.

Minecraft In VR Again But Better – Episode 2 (Technically Episode 1!)

Hey everybody, it’s Anap and welcome back! Yes, I am back in Minecraft VR and this is part two — but technically it’s kind of part one, and I can explain. We are in a brand new world! I know part one was a brand new world as well, but it was really glitchy, had a whole bunch of buildings already in it, and it kind of felt like cheating. So this time, I am starting Minecraft VR completely from scratch.

Before we get into it, please let me know if you like the new arms I’m trying out! You can actually see my knees bend with them as well, which is a really cool touch. If you enjoy them, let me know in the comments — if not, I’ll change them back. But without further ado, let’s get into it!

Getting Started – Punching Trees (Literally)

As I showed in my last video, in Minecraft VR you actually have to physically punch things to mine them. It is genuinely demanding — I seriously have to beat the living daylights out of every single block. There is another way to mine that’s a bit more passive, but it kind of defeats the fun of the game. It might be useful if you’re just trying to dig or build quickly, but where’s the fun in that? I’ve also added a few mods to make the game feel a bit nicer and more interesting, including Falling Leaves, which looks absolutely gorgeous. We also have a really handy crafting mod and a super cool particle feature that lets me flick items toward me — honestly one of the coolest features in VR, I feel like I have superpowers!

A Perfect Spawn and Setting Up Base

We actually spawned in an incredibly nice spot — there are berry bushes nearby (which are dangerous to walk into, just a heads up), and we are right next to a really deep water hole which is amazing for a base location. The plan was to clear out the area, chop down some trees, and get everything set up before nightfall. The crafting system in this modded VR setup is so cool — I pull my little backpack out, grab the materials, and place them straight onto a physical crafting table in front of me. It’s genuinely one of the most immersive things I’ve ever experienced in gaming.

Night Falls Fast – Time to Mine!

Night came around a lot faster than I expected and, without a shelter or torches, things got pretty nerve-wracking very quickly. With mobs starting to spawn and no coal or cobblestone yet for torches, I made the call to go mining. Luckily, we found a cave right nearby with some light in it — absolute relief! Inside the cave, I managed to get rid of the annoying backpack mod (it was seriously driving me nuts) and started collecting coal and iron. We found a ridiculous amount of coal down there, way more than we’ll ever need. We also stumbled across a mine shaft, which was both exciting and terrifying — especially when I heard a spider. Since mine shaft spiders can be the poisonous kind, I made the sensible call to leave that section for another episode.

Back to the Surface – Berry Farm and Torches

Getting back up out of the cave was a full workout in itself — jumping up every single block manually in VR is no joke! Once I made it back to the surface during daytime, I set up a little berry bush farm using oak slabs to create a raised platform so I can harvest the berries without getting hurt by them. I also placed torches all around the base area to stop mobs from spawning nearby, which made the next night feel a whole lot less terrifying. There is also a Seasons mod installed, which means it could eventually start snowing and slowing things down — but that’s a topic for a future episode!

The Dog Chase and an Unexpected Enderman

I spotted a wolf nearby and immediately decided that getting a dog was the top priority — more important than building a house, honestly. To tame a wolf you need bones, so I went after the salmon in the nearby water hoping they’d drop some. After a bit of chaos involving an invisible Enderman (yes, really — this mod pack has them coming out of the ground, which makes everything ten times scarier), I somehow managed to collect two bones from a skeleton. Unfortunately, two bones just wasn’t enough to tame the wolf before the episode wrapped up. Getting that dog is absolutely the mission for next episode!

Community Server – You Can Join In!

I’ve been secretly working on something really exciting — you can actually join this Minecraft world right now! You’ll be in adventure mode, so you won’t be able to build, but you can eat food, pick up props, pick up swords, attack enemies, and more. If I’m live streaming in this world, you can hop straight in no matter what version of Java you’re on. All you have to do is type mc.undermycap.net to instantly join. On top of that, if you have Vivecraft installed, you’ll actually be able to see everything I’m doing in VR — even behind the scenes before a video goes up, which is absolutely wild. More details will be released soon, so stay tuned!

What’s Next?

Even though we didn’t quite get the dog this episode, I think we made some seriously great progress! We’ve got our berry farm set up for food, we have salmon nearby, we’ve loaded up on coal and iron, and we’ve got a really beautiful base location to build on. Next episode we’re going to tame that dog, smelt our iron, build a proper house, and get a whole lot more sorted. I’m really loving this series and I hope you are too!
